Accelerating microbiology

MicroPhage delivers high-value bacterial diagnostics for bacterial identification and antibiotic susceptibility testing – providing critical knowledge and enabling better treatment when and where it is needed.

Faster results. Expanded menus. Easy-to-use formats. That's how MicroPhage is redefining bacterial identification and antibiotic susceptibility testing.

At the core of our success is a proprietary technology that accelerates specific identification of bacteria, direct antibiotic susceptibility and resistance testing – straight from samples and cultures.

MicroPhage's technology uses bacteriophage amplification to produce a specific and readily detectable marker to identify the presence of viable bacteria and their response to antibiotics. This process increases specificity and decreases time to results.

Unlike molecular testing, phage amplification is phenotypic, and does not require technical expertise or sophisticated equipment to drive or measure results. Our proprietary technology delivers "better than molecular" results almost anywhere – reducing costs and increasing value.

How bacteriophage amplification works.

Simple, highly accurate, and cost-effective diagnostic testing for bacterial infections:
No special equipment is needed to perform the MicroPhage test, which can diagnose bacteria in a wide range of clinical samples.
  Hands-free bacteriophage amplification:
Key to the sensitivity and specificity of MicroPhage’s platform is bateriophage biology. When mixed with a patient’s sample, bacteriophage attach to specific bacteria present in the sample and then replicate rapidly.
Quick turnaround of ID/AST test results:
The MicroPhage test gives two results simultaneously in just hours: Identification and Antimicrobial Susceptibility. Quick results are crucial: bacterial infections can be deadly if treated inappropriately.
